Each capsule delivers 695โฏmg of magnesium L-threonate, providing 50โฏmg of elemental magnesium. At the recommended dose of 2 capsules twice daily (4 capsules total), each daily serving delivers 2,085โฏmg of magnesium L-threonate complex and 200โฏmg of elemental magnesium. Magnesium L-threonate (also written magnesium l threonate, magnรฉsium l-thrรฉonate) is a chelated form in which elemental magnesium is bound to threonic acid a naturally occurring metabolite of vitamin C.
Magnesium L-threonate has a 7.2% elemental magnesium content by weight lower than magnesium oxide (~60%) or magnesium bisglycinate (~14โ16%) but the threonate carrier itself is biologically active. Threonic acid is a metabolite of vitamin C and can cross biological membranes efficiently.
