Efficacy of turmeric extracts and curcumin for alleviating the symptoms of joint arthritis: a systematic review and meta analysis of randomized clinical trials

The authors concluded that curcumin is a highly potent, multi mechanism antioxidant compound, operating through both direct free radical scavenging and indirect upregulation of endogenous antioxidant defences.
